Call to Action - Tell Congress We Need More COVID-19 Relief Before Year’s End

COVID-19 cases are surging, resources are being stretched to their lowest levels, and provisions from the CARES Act -- like unemployment insurance, paid leave, and Paycheck Protection Program support --- are set to expire at the end of this month. Despite these concerns, Congress still has failed to act and provide relief for families across the country.

Will you spare two minutes and tell your Members of Congress to support nonprofits on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic?

Yesterday, Speaker Pelosi and Leader McConnell headed back to the negotiation table to continue discussing a year-end package to fund the government that will likely include COVID-19 financial support. But with so many competing priorities, I'm concerned that Congressional leaders will forget to include support for YWCAs and other nonprofits on the frontlines of this pandemic.Take childcare as an example.

Without $50 billion in dedicated emergency funding for child care in the stimulus relief package, child care providers nationwide are in danger. We need support for both immediate and long-term responses to the ongoing public health crisis. Child care is critical to the country's economic stability and infrastructure. As the demand for emergency support grows more urgent by the day, providers must have the resources to address immediate funding, staffing, and safety crises caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.Congressional leaders are negotiating a new COVID-19 package and now is the time to urge Congress to include support for nonprofits like YWCAs on the frontline. We need Congress to include support for child care, housing, and domestic violence service providers on the frontline of this pandemic - but I need your help to elevate these concerns to Congress!

Will you join us and tell Congress to act now if we are to continue meeting the significant needs of America's families?
